RLC 2024 – Marty and Trina Go Camping Spirit Challenges

All Pre-Conference submissions should be sent into the “Spirit Challenges Submission Form” by November 14th at 11:59 pm EST.

​Spirit Challenges

  1. CampCheer:Create a cheer for your Institution and have your delegation perform it. Take a video and show your school spirit!

  2. Scary Ghost Story: Make up a story to tell around a campfire!Take a video of a member(s) of your Delegation reading the story

  3. Make Friendship Bracelets to Trade! Take pictures of your delegation making friendship bracelets! Bring some to trade with other delegates!

  4. What's in your pack?What are the essentials you are bringing on this camping trip? Think flashlights, hoodies, food, etc. Take a picture of your delegation’s pack!

  5. Play list to listen to while traveling: What will your delegation be listening to while traveling?! Share a copy of your delegations' playlist.

  6. Puzzle sat the Campsite: Complete either one or both the word. search and crossword puzzle. Have each delegate submit photo of completed puzzle(s) on the form.

  7. Clothes pins:These are prepared pre-conference but traded and judged during conference. As per NEACURH policy they will be judged on Creativity/Originality, Relation to Conference Theme, Aesthetic Value/General Appearance, Identification of Institutional present.

  8. Roll Call: This is prepared pre-conference and presented to the conference attendees live at the opening ceremony. This should include school name, and introduction to your delegation, and be related to conference theme. 3 min. Maximum time limit to present (skit, song, dance...). Any audio needs such as music must be submitted on form (prefer a website for easy access and smooth set up on stage). Roll Calls are judged as per NEACURH policy.

    1. Unity (i.e. Does the roll call demonstrate the unity of the school).

    2. Participation (i.e. Is the entire delegation actively involved in the skit).

    3. Theme (i.e. Does the skit reflect the subject assigned by the Conference

      Staff).

    4. Preparedness (i.e. Does the roll call appear well rehearsed).

    5. Motivation (i.e. Is the roll call skit uplifting, devoid of racial and sexist

      connotations, and does it excite the delegates).

9. Banner: The banner is prepared pre-conference and brought to registration. Banner should include Institution name, members of your delegation, theme related, and no bigger the 5ftx3ft. It’s judged per NEACURH policy

  1. 20% Creativity/Originality

  2. 20% Relation to the conference theme.

  3. 20% Aesthetic value.

  4. 20% Description of school.

  5. 20% Creation by school delegation.
